What I learn from my own language training...

Updated: May 1, 2020

When you begin to learn a foreign langage, you want to memorize a massive vocabulary list but this isn’t a very effective and fun way to learn French. I mean it helps for your understanding at least. But, trust me, I came throught it with learning Englis and learn a few of the most commonly used words & phrases and praticing your French pronunciation would be more efficient. After all, the goal of language learning is not vocabulary acquisition. It’s having the confidence to have and understand conversations with native French speakers.

The fact is you want to be as much as smart and fluent than you are in your Native Langage.

I observed our Native Language is more than a way to communicate, it’s a way to show your wit, your humor, your comeback and your personnality. It represents who you are. So, when I learned to speak a second language, I wanted to do the same thing and therefore form complicated sentences, because I was scared of sounding easy and stupid. And of course, I hesitated a lot, hid myself behind my husband or run into difficult constructions.

When you learn a foreign language, you need to accept that your first goal is to communicate: simplify your sentences, as if you were speaking to a four year old child. Get your point across, don’t try to show off. I know, it’s hard to accept to sound shy when you are not, silly when you are quite intelligent, humorless when you are the king of jokes in your native language. At the beginning, learning a New Language is a very humbling experience, and all foreign language speakers go through it. And we all survive. I am one proof among many others !

But, you’re right it’s easier to say it now than during the learning process.

I also think, you learn better while you explore about the culture of the country you want to speak. For these reasons, I offer you French Lessons with immersion. As a French Native Speaker, I would be happy to share with you basics, vocabulary, grammar, tips through real situations like if you were in France ! I will make you travel through culture and place that French enjoy.

Let’s go ?
